3 The Broadcasting Act 2009 repealed the following 14 Acts in full (see ss. 3 and 5 of 2009 Act and S.I. No. 389 of 2009): Wireless Telegraphy Act 1956 (4/1956); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1964 (4/1964); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1966 (7/1966); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1971 (2/1971); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1973 (1/1973); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1974 (33/1974); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1979 (36/1979); Radio and Television Act 1988 (20/1988); Broadcasting (Major Events Television Coverage) Act 1999 (28/1999); Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1993(15/1993); Broadcasting Act 2001 (4/2001); Broadcasting (Major Events Television Coverage) (Amendment) Act 2003 (13/2003); Broadcasting (Funding) Act 2003 (43/2003); and Broadcasting (Amendment) Act 2007 (15/2007).
4 Teilifís Na Gaeilge (Establishment Day) Order 2007, S.I. No. 98 of 2007, was made under Broadcasting Act 2001 (4/2001), s. 43, which was repealed by Broadcasting Act 2009. The body established, Teilifís na Gaeilge, is still in existence. It appears however that the Establishment Day order is no longer in force and should be revoked.
5 The enabling provision is Wireless Telegraphy Act 1926 (45/1926), s. 6, now substituted by Broadcasting Act 2009 (18/2009), s. 182 and sch. 2. Broadcasting Act 2009, s. 144 continues existing and in force regulations made under s. 6 relating to television licences as if made under that section. The Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources considers that these regulations apply to television licenses.
6 The enabling provisions are Postal and Telecommunications Service Act 1983 (24/ 1983), s. 76(1) and (15). These are repealed by Broadcasting Act 2009 (18/ 2009), s. 3, commenced on enactment. These regulations are saved by section 145(14): Anything commenced before the passing of this Act by or under the authority of the Minister may, in so far as it relates to the functions under this section, be carried on or completed on or after such commencement by an issuing agent.
