Emplopyment Permits Act 2024
Short title and commencement
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Employment Permits Act 2024.
(2) This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may by order or orders appoint either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions and for the repeal of different enactments or provisions of enactments effected by section 6.

2. The 19th day of February 2025 is appointed as the day on which the Employment Permits Act 2024 (No. 17 of 2024), in so far as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation.

2. The 2nd day of September 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Employment Permits Act 2024 (No. 17 of 2024) shall come into operation:
(a) Part 1, other than section 3(1)(c);
(b) Part 2, other than –
(i) section 9(2)(j),
(ii) Chapter 3,
(iii) sections 12(2)(d) and 19(8)(c),
(iv) section 23 in so far as it relates to seasonal employment permits,
(v) sections 29, 30, 33(7), 36(4)(b)(iv) and 37(7),
(vi) section 39(1) in so far as it relates to seasonal employment permits, and
(vii) section 40(1)(i);
(c) Parts 3 to 7;
(d) Schedules 1 and 2.
