Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023
Short title, collective citation and commencement
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023.
(2) (a) Sections 63, 64 and 65 and the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Acts 1961 to 2021 may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Acts 1961 to 2023.
(b) Section 62 and the Courts of Justice Acts 1924 to 2019 may be cited together as the Courts of Justice Acts 1924 to 2023.
(3) This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may, by order or orders appoint either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions, and for the repeal of different provisions of the enactment effected by section 6.

Prospective affecting provision: power pursuant to subsection (3) exercised (1.01.2025, 15.06.2024) by Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2024 (S.I. No. 553 of 2024).
2. The 1st day of January 2025 is appointed as the day on which the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (No. 33 of 2023), insofar as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation.

Power pursuant to subsection (3) exercised (27.03.2024) by Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (Commencement) Order 2024 (S.I. No. 114 of 2024).
3. The 27th day of March 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation:
(a) Part 1, other than section 6;
(b) Part 2, other than section 28;
(c) Part 3;
(d) the Schedule.
4. The 15th day of June 2024 is appointed as the day on which section 67 of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation.
