Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022

1.

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022.

(2) This Act, other than Part 7 , shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may by order or orders appoint either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions.

2. The 26th day of January 2026 is appointed as the day on which section 7 of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No. 26 of 2022) shall come into operation.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (15.02.2024) by Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2024 (S.I. No. 40 of 2024).

2. The 15th day of February 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No. 26 of 2022) shall come into operation:

(a) sections 20 and 21;

(b) section 23;

(c) section 32;

(d) sections 34.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (1.07.2023) by Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) (No. 3) Order 2023 (S.I. No. 345 of 2023).

2. The 1st day of July 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No. 26 of 2022) shall come into operation:

(a) section 5(2);

(b) section 16(b).

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (29.06.2023, 1.07.2023) by Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) (No. 2) Order 2023 (S.I. No. 344 of 2023).

3. The 29th day of June 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) section 6;

(b) sections 11 to 14.

4. The 1st day of July 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) sections 5(1) and (3);

(b) sections 8 and 9;

(c) section 16(a);

(d) section 17;

(e) section 22;

(f) sections 24 and 25;

(g) sections 27 to 31;

(h) section 33.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (24.02.2023) by  Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2023 (S.I. No. 49 of 2023).

2. The 24th day of February 2023 is appointed as the day on which—

(a) paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of subsection (1), and

(b) subsection (2),

of section 26 of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No. 26 of 2022) shall come into operation.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (23.08.2022) by Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2022 (S.I. No. 420 of 2022).

2. The 23rd day of August 2022 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No. 26 of 2022) shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1, other than section 5;

(b) Part 6.
