Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012

1.

Short title, commencement, collective citation and construction.

1.— (1) This Act may be cited as the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012.

(2) This Act comes into operation on such day or days as, by order or orders made by the Minister under this section, may be fixed therefor either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so fixed for different purposes and different provisions.

(3) This Act and the Road Safety Authority Act 2006 may be cited together as the Road Safety Authority Acts 2006 and 2012 and shall be read together as one.

2. The day fixed as the day on which section 36 of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012) comes into operation is 12 February 2018.

2. The day fixed as the day on which section 44(a) and (b) of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012) and the matter at reference number 2A (inserted by the said section 44(b)) in Part 1 of the First Schedule to the Road Traffic Act 2002 (No. 12 of 2002) come into operation is 17th November 2014.

Power pursuant to section exercised (10.09.2013) by Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (Sections 30, 31 and 39) (Commencement) Order 2013 (S.I. No. 349 of 2013).

2. The day fixed as the day on which sections 30, 31 and 39 of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012) come into operation is 10th September 2013.

Power pursuant to section exercised (27.03.2013) by Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (Certain Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2013 (S.I. No. 105 of 2013).

2. The 27th day of March 2013 is fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012), namely, sections 4 to 27, 29, 32 to 35, 37 and 38, 40 to 42, 44(c) and 46 to 48 come into operation on the day after the making of this Order.

2. The day fixed as the day on which Part 3 of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012) comes into operation is 12 January 2013.
