Charities Act 2009
Short title and commencement.
1.— (1) This Act may be cited as the Charities Act 2009.
(2) This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may appoint by order or orders either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or provisions, and for the repeal of different provisions of the Charities Act 1961 effected by section 11.

2. The 5th day of September 2016 is appointed as the day on which Part 4 of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation.

2. The 15th day of August 2016 is appointed as the day on which sections 91 and 92 of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (16.10.2014) by Charities Act 2009 (Commencement) Order 2014 (S.I. No. 457 of 2014).
2. The 16th day of October 2014 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation:
(a) section 3;
(b) sections 6 to 9;
(c) section 10 (insofar as it has not already been commenced);
(d) section 11;
(e) Part 2;
(f) Part 3;
(g) Part 5;
(h) Part 6;
(i) Schedule 1;
(j) Schedule 2.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (26.06.2010) by Charities Act 2009 (Commencement) Order 2010 (S.I. No. 315 of 2010).
2. The 26th day of June 2010 is appointed as the day on which sections 4 and 90 of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation.

2. The 1st day of September 2009 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation:
(a) section 1;
(b) section 2;
(c) section 5;
(d) section 10 (other than subsections (3) and (4)); and
(e) section 99.
