Surveillance.

3.— A member of the Garda Síochána, F15[a designated officer of the F16[Police Ombudsman],] F17[a member of the Defence Forces, an officer of the Revenue Commissioners or an authorised officer of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission] shall carry out surveillance only in accordance with a valid authorisation or an approval granted in accordance with section 7 or 8.
