F176[42A.—(1) Where the death occurs during the first 7 days of life of a child born alive ("early neonatal death") it shall be the duty of the registered medical practitioner who attends the child concerned to give to the Superintendent Registrar in whose registration area the death occurred, as soon as practicable after the occurrence of the early neonatal death and in such manner as an tArd-Chláraitheoir may direct, the required particulars relating to the early neonatal death.
(2) The duty imposed on a registered medical practitioner under subsection (1) is in addition to, and not in substitution for, a duty or obligation imposed on a person under section 37.]
