Short title, collective citation and commencement.

15

15.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Health Insurance (Amendment) Act, 2001.

(2) The Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Health Insurance Acts, 1994 and 2001, and shall be construed together as one Act.

(3) This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may appoint by order or orders either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions.

2. The 9th day of June 2009 is appointed as the day on which—

(a) sections 5 and 13 (in so far as they are not already in operation),

and

(b) sections 6 and 7,

of the Health Insurance (Amendment) Act 2001 (No. 17 of 2001) shall come into operation.

2. The 29th day of June 2005 is appointed as the day on which sections 3 (in so far as it is not already in operation) and 8 of the Health Insurance (Amendment) Act 2001 (No. 17 of 2001) come into operation.

Power pursuant to section exercised (19.11.2001) by Health Insurance (Amendment) Act 2001 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2001 (S.I. No. 514 of 2001).

3. The following provisions of the Health Insurance (Amendment) Act, 2001 (No. 17 of 2001), come into operation on 19 November 2001:

(a) sections 1 and 2,

(b) paragraphs (b) to (f) of section 3,

(c) section 4,

(d) section 5, except in so far as it relates to the amendment of the Principal Act by section 6,

(e) sections 9, 10, 11 and 12,

(f) paragraphs (a) to (g) of section 13, except in so far as paragraph (b) relates to the amendment of the Principal Act by section 6, and

(g) sections 14 and 15.
