National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996
Commencement.
2.—This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as may be fixed by the Minister by order, either generally or with reference to a particular purpose or provision, and different days may be so fixed for different purposes and different provisions.

Power pursuant to section exercised (11.04.1997) by National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 (Commencement and Establishment Day) Order 1997 (S.I. No. 176 of 1997).
2. (1) The 1st day of January, 1997, is hereby fixed as the day on which the National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 (No. 28 of 1996), other than Part IV thereof, shall be deemed to have come into operation.
(2) It is hereby fixed that Part IV of the National Standards Authority of Ireland Act, 1996 , shall come into operation on the establishment day.
3. The 14th day of April, 1997, is hereby appointed as the establishment day on which the National Standards Authority of Ireland shall stand established.
