Workplace Relations Act 2015

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Workplace Relations Act 2015.

(2) Subject to F1[sections 8(7), 57(3) and 66(3)], this Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may appoint by order or orders either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions.

Power pursuant to section exercised (1.05.2016) by Workplace Relations Act 2015 (Section 37) (Commencement) Order 2016 (S.I. No. 206 of 2016).

2. The 1st day of May 2016 is appointed as the day upon which section 37 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (No. 16 of 2015) shall come into operation.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (1.10.2015) by Workplace Relations Act 2015 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2015 (S.I. No. 410 of 2015).

2. The 1st day of October 2015 is appointed as the day upon which the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (No. 16 of 2015) (other than sections 37, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69 and 70) shall, in so far as it is not already in operation, come into operation.

Power pursuant to subs. (2) exercised (1.08.2015) by Workplace Relations Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2015 (S.I. No. 338 of 2015).

2. The 1st day of August 2015 is appointed as the day upon which the following provisions of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (No. 16 of 2015) shall come into operation:

(a) sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 54, 55, 75, 77, 78, 79;

(b) subsections (1) and (2) of section 40 and subsections (1) and (3) of section 86; and

(c) Schedule 1.
