Discontinuance of proceedings for adoption order or for recognition of intercountry adoption effected outside State.
21.— (1) By notice delivered to the F18 [ Child and Family Agency ] at any time after an application under section 20 , the applicant or applicants may discontinue the proceedings that are the subject of that application, without liability for any costs of the proceedings.
(2) The F18 [ Child and Family Agency ], as soon as practicable after receipt of notice under subsection (1), shall give notice of the discontinuance to the Authority, any adoption committee concerned and the birth parents of the child who was proposed to be adopted.
