This Revised Act is an administrative consolidation of International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town Convention) Act 2005. It is prepared by the Law Reform Commission in accordance with its function under Law Reform Commission Act 1975 (3/1975) to keep the law under review and to undertake revision and consolidation of statute law.

All Acts up to and including Knowledge Development Box (Certification of Inventions) Act 2017 (6/2017), enacted 12 April 2017, and all statutory instruments up to and including International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town Convention) (Aircraft Protocol) Order 2017 (S.I. No. 187 of 2017), made 2 May 2017, were considered in the preparation of this Revised Act.

AN ACT TO GIVE EFFECT TO THE CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL INTERESTS IN MOBILE EQUIPMENT, AND TO THE PROTOCOL TO THAT CONVENTION ON MATTERS SPECIFIC TO AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT, OPENED FOR SIGNATURE AT CAPE TOWN ON 16 NOVEMBER 2001; TO PROVIDE FOR RELATED MATTERS; AND TO AMEND THE AIR NAVIGATION AND TRANSPORT (INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS) ACT 2004.
