209.—Where a child is serving a period of detention in a children detention school, the Minister may at any time order the child’s release from the school on compassionate grounds if he or she is satisfied on the basis of a report from the Director of the school, after consultation with the 1 [ Director of the Probation and Welfare Service ], that exceptional circumstances exist which justify the release.
