Functions of Commission under certain Council Regulations.

8

8.—(1) The Commission shall be the competent authority in the State for the purposes of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 95/93 other than the functions of the coordinator.

(2) The Commission shall have the function of appointing a coordinator under Article 4 of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 95/93.

25A. (1) (a) The Commission for Aviation Regulation is designated as the central contact point for the purposes of Article 18 of the Directive and this Act.

(b) The performance of a function as central contact point pursuant to the designation under paragraph (a) shall be a function of the Commission for Aviation Regulation under the Act of 2001.

3. The Commission is the competent licensing authority in the State for the purposes of the Council and Parliament Regulation. This is a function of the Commission under the Act of 2001.

3. The Commission is designated as the body responsible for the enforcement of the Regulation (including the implementation of Article 8) as regards flights departing from or arriving at airports situated in the State. This is a function of the Commission under the Act.
